Default best case for 8700? - 01-19-2007, 09:32 PM

my old blackberry's screen broke because i dropped it. I would like to prevent that this time with my new 8700. Can anyone recomend a great case that i can purchase that will not terribly decrease the funcionality and feel of this phone?

Thanks!

The aluminum ones seem like a pretty good solution for those that have a history of dropping their phones. I know there's a few different places that carry them that I've seen them at (online that is). Thats about the most protective case I can imagine really. The leather ones, while offering some protection, aren't going to make a whole lot of difference if you drop it I wouldn't think.... If the old one just slipped out of your hand, check out eGrips--I love these things!

A decent leather case might help to prevent the screen from cracking if the BB falls on a hard surface. The trackwheel is trickier to use on most leather cases though.

If you're a real klutz, I guess you can try this: http://www.otterbox.com/products/pda...rry_8700_case/

No idea how usability is affected though.

I think the T-Mobile leather case does a good job...

I just brought the sena case for my 8700. It was a little pricey but well worth the money...

I just purchased the sena case as well and I like it. It takes some getting use to. Using the trackwheel is a little tricky (as an earlier post mentioned) and when you shut the flip top it turns screen off, which is a nice feature. But also realize when you put the flip top around the back of the phone to hold it and the magnets touch the back it will turn the screen off as well and will disconnect a call.

Fortte cases - Leather Cases for Blackberry. Elegant and Functional PDA Cases for all popular PDAs, Handhelds and Smartphones
Krusell cases - Krusell

I have used both, and think they are great!
