Default Best Stereo Headset adapter - 01-24-2007, 02:29 PM

I have a pair of Sony earbuds that I just really like and I want to use them to listen to music on my Pearl. I bought an adapter at Radio scrap and it does not work. It is going back, I then bout an adapter at the wireless store down at the airport this morning. It does not work at all, in fact the phone doesn't recognized that it is even plugged in. Any clues at all?

Seidio.com sells one for $10 (plus $5 shipping for a 4 inch cord--go figure). I have one and it works fine. The ones you bought won't work because they don't line up with the headphone jack in the Pearl which has a microphone input, so even if you don't have a mike you have to use that adapter. Forget Fry's, BestBuy too. They won't know what you mean.
Just an aside about shipping (pet peeve). The thing came in an 8 by 12 bubble mailer! I had a hard time finding it in the bottom.

I don't see why not. Cassette adapters pretty much work just like headphones.

Do you know how much distance can there be between you and the mic on the ones with the mics?

The ones that come have the mic where it can clip onto your lapel or shirt. However, with these, it would be close to the bb, connected to different lengths of headphones. It would appear to be a pain to have to hold up the bb/mic close to your mouth when talking on it.

Anyone have these can speak to this?
