So I have a verizon wireless, 8703e and a 8803, I understand that the 8803 does not have a place for external antenna so this is out of the question.. but i know the 8703e does. In my neighborhood i barely get a bar, just enough to register 1xrtt on the device. Im wondering if anyone has had success in using a cell phone repeater, wich brand etc etc.. or 3 watt antenna in an area where recepetion is almost non existant.. this company boast you barely need a bar and these will work.. I work for vzw but unforunatly my network guys have not been that much help to me and im wondering if anyone has had any personal experiences with these devices and how well they actually work and if they are worth the investment.. some run around a couple hundred dollars.

They work in the sense that your repeater has a good signal as well. The problem with repeaters is that the antenna needs to have a good signal as well. If not you will end up with your blackberry has a good signal but your repeater has a bad signal so you are back to square one. So make sure the repeaters antenna is high enough to get a good signal. If the general coverage area is bad to begin with, then you are taking a risk. If you are buying this because you live in a house with aluminum siding and aluminum window screens or you basically live in a Faraday cage, then a repeater is for you.
