Default Can TMobile 7105t be used with AT&T?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7105t that I got from T-Mobile. I now have a Pearl and want to give my 7105t to my brother. He is on AT&T.

Can this phone be used with that carrier? If so, do I have to do something to it?

First, you should have T-Mobile release it from the BIS.
They get it unlocked. GSMPhonesource has always worked for me, and there are other sponsors who do unlocking.

Then it should work.

NJ,
You are talking over my head.

since I am now using a Pearl in place of the 7105t, using the same sim card, didn't it get released from the BIS? Or do I need to specifically ask?

GSMsource is what? Something I need to ask for at t-mobile? A company? Not sure I understand...

sorry. A newbie, non-tech user.

GSMPhonesource.com is a company that will unlock the 7105t so that it can be used on AT&T. Currently the phone is locked to T-Mobile. They are a company that does the unlocking - you pay them, they send you a code you use to unlock the phone.

T-Mobile "owns" your 7105 in their BIS. When your brother tries to register it, it will PROBABLY say that the phone is already registered. So you will have to call T-Mobile and ask them to release it.
