hello all...i am new here and i carry a Boost tattoo i860 unlocked on nextel but i am fixing to purchase a nextel 7520 and i ordered this clip http://store.bizshopr.com/rimacc-05505-023.html

the 7520 i get comes with a holster i guess you would call it but i perfer a clip such as with all other nextel phones. is this a good clip and does it face the blackberry in or out?

i see alot of people say the blackberry does something when put back in the holster (shut off the display or hang up or answer when you pull it out) how does the phone know to do this? i am assuming with the clip i purchased none of that will work? thanks for the great site as i found it on nextelmodz.com. off to read some more before i ask stupid newb questions..lol

There is a magnet in the back of Blackberry OEM holsters which enables the Blackberry to auto off. Word of advive the OEM clip that come with all Blackberry's are at best OK and do a pretty good job of damaging the unit in the process. This is the unit I use and I am very pleased with it. I never usedthe OEM unit because I could tell the very first day it was going to scratch the heck out of the unit. Best purchase I have made todate for my unit. Other than the scratches on the unit where I have dropped it. The unit face is perfect.

I had a 7510 with the standard holster for about a year and the damage to the face was minimal but after a while the blackberry was not tight in the holster. I just switched to the 7520 and bought the leather holster and I like it so much that I should have used it from the begining. Make sure no matter what case you use that it has the magnet for the sleep feature. This make a big difference in the battery life.
