I'd like to carry by BB 7290 in my pants pocket (front). What's the thinnest case without a belt clip that will give me good protection? I'd prefer leather, but that's not essential.

I've seen the Krusell case with the clear plastic front, but I'm concerned that it will interfere with my ability to use the BB keys. I used one with a Nokia cellular phone and it did.

Any thoughts and recommendations would be great.

I find the blackberrys to be really solid units, and I personally do not think a case is necessary if you're putting it in your pocket. The only time I find a case to be really necessary is if the device has a touch screen. They're really sensitive, and you don't want to break it. The blackberry seems like it wouldn't break all that easily if no case is used.

Still a big fan of the leather belt clip myself but this could make for a good option: http://www.speckproducts.com/bb7290.html if you do anything at least have a screen protector on your device if you don't end up going with any of the option available to you.

Finch - We sell the skin tight cases as well (at a discount) but the skin material is a bit too "clingy" in my opinion to work well in pants pocket. Having said that I use the skin case myself on the 7290

RIM redesigned case to fit the larger profile of your 7290 model is ACC-08580-001. There is no belt clip on it, just a leather pouch. ACC-05305-001 will fit eventually but it will be very tight for awhile.

Actually, Finch, I'm a big fan of screen protectors. When I had a BB857, I used to cut down Palm Pilot screen protectors to fit. I think I had the screen protector before I had the BB 7290.
