Default A question on switching my SIM

Please Login to Remove!

I have a bold on ATT, works great. like it a lot. It is tied to a BES account. I own the phone, we are a small company and not everyone has berry's (some have switched to iphones).

I just purchased (am waiting for it) an unlocked HTC android phone so that I can do some testing of our company s/w to this phone.

My question is:

If i take my SIM out of my berry (has a voice and data service) and put it in my android device will the data part of it work correctly or would i need to change my data plan with ATT?

For testing, i would like to be able to switch the phones back and forth but want to make sure the data part is going to work without changes.

Please update your profile to show the model number of the device you are now using and the carrier, if it has changed.

Your post says Bold on AT&T and your profile says 8330 and Verizon. Thanks

It should work. Not sure if the BES feature matters or not. The thing to be aware of however, is that AT&T periodically scrans IMEIs on their network. If they were to do that after you switch, they would recognized the Android device and switch you to the applicable smartphone plan for that device. Then you would have to go back to them to put the BES plan back for your BB.

OK. Just make sure you mention the correct device/carrier if you have problems.

You will need to change your data plan with AT&T. BlackBerry data plans go with BlackBerry devices only, and AT&T will change your plan for you if you change devices.
