Question i phone streeming question

i bought a app that allows me to watch all hockey games on my i phone,its like center ice for the phone,i went and bought a cable that allows me to hook my phone to my tv,when i hook it up i get sound but no picture,when watching a game but if i play a video i took it comes on the tv??

IT WORKS WITH UTUBE, but with this game center app i only get sound.
