| 8320 or iPhone Please Login to Remove! Hello Guys
I need help, I love my blackberry, and I love all the features, and the new software release fixed all my major gripes about the phone. However its now time to jump to a Wifi phone. The Wife has finally ok'ed me to get an iPhone or the new blackberry. She wants me to get the iPhone so she can take over my Ipod video.
Do you guys no a good website I can check out the pros and cons for both phones?
Phone scoop doesnt have any info on the curve yet.

| Welcome to the Forums.
You will find lots of information here on the Curve, and quite less on the iPhone, although I do know a handful of users here that carry both, some that have abandoned the BB altogether for the iPhone, and more that went for the iPhone and dropped it after a week or two and returned.
I don't know of a specific forum for comparison, you will find some user comments on the iPhone, both directions, here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/handheld-forum/ | | Offline

| To be honest you have to think on what you need, do you need a toy or a tool. a week and half ago i traded my iphone 8gig for the curve because i just thought it was not worth it and yes i paid full price and i did not mind losing money in the trade because thats how little i thought of the iphone. the good things about the iphone the screen is amazing the music part is good the itunes a video is great. the bad no key pad eveything is touch the typeing really annoying and i have small hands. battery life sucks. e mail is every 15 mins. the iphone will not read amost files that come with an e mail. pics are fine but docs are not. as for the blackberry you have e mail the keyboard good screen and the battery life is good yes its not a atoy its a tool that will make your communcation with other people alot faster and more professional and you dont have to go to a desktop to read a document or a pdf file. the nice thing is that with the blackberry you have the memory card option so it gives you space for music so it will act as an ipod but a ipod replacement it is not. hope this helps

| I always use CNet to compare phones. Compare Apple iPhone - 4GB (AT&T) to Smart phones. Comparisons by CNET.
My roommate has an iPhone and I don't really like it. I don't know if he's retarded if it's not possible but he can't send or receive MMS messages. When he gets one, it's a SMS with a link to the picture. He has to email pictures to send them. I tried typing on it once and really didn't like it. The images to touch are small and when you touch a letter the images gets bigger. I don't think my fingers are too big but I hit a lot of letters that weren't the ones I wanted. | | Offline

So he is NOT retarded...unless you look at the fact he spent so much for a glorified iPod. | | Offline

| In my opinon if you use your phone for email, instant messanger andto send MMS messages you need the blackberry. If you need a music player then the Iphone may be your best bet.
I've met a couple people happy to switch from BB to the iphone but they were younger and not really reliant (sp?) on being connected to their email.

| Well, the e-mail really isnt THAT important to me, I check it once about every hour or so. I would like to use Instant Messanger, is this available with the iPhone? Also the two biggest options are, Web browsing, and WiFi capibility. The iPhone can connect to my wireless router and take advantage of that speed? (after I unlock the phone to use with t-mobile). | | Offline

| I have played with the iphone a few times and still cannot type on the thing. If you like it I say go for it, or either keep the BB and get a Ipod touch. Thats basically what you are looking for. Then you have the best of both worlds. | | Offline

| I'm in the same boat, 8320 or iPhone. It mainly depends on whether T-Mo will give me the 8320 @ $250 AR. If not I'm going with an unlocked iPhone that's cheaper than the $445 with no extension.

if you like the blackberry then to be honest I would stick with the blackberry. I had the iphone 8 gig and I traded it on this forum for a 8300 that's how bad it was the battery does not last the wifi is ok but nothing special as for typing and e mail the Iphone hands down sucks in that department can't even compare it will take you a few weeks to get used to the touch typing and u still make a lot of mistake because it types the wrong letter. The I phone is good for a person who really does not depend on e mail a lot. Also of thing I know. A lot of people don't like is the lack of buttons. Makes the phone hard to handel while driveing and even walking its like u need to stop look at screen. . Oh one last thing yes I lost money on the trade but that's how disappointed I am was the iphone and I got it the week it came out.

| I carry both 8800 and iphone and like them both. I dont need instant email all that much so the 8800 gets less use as time goes on. I use the web and ipod functions alot more so that determines my preference. Typing is same on both after you get used to them. Just my .02

| My guy offered to buy me an iPhone, but I told him I want a BB Curve instead. So I'm getting one as soon as I can upgrade (3 weeks from today).

| good choice Good pick. You won't be sorry I have the curve. As my backup phone in case I ever brake my 8800. The one thing I like about the curve as the keys they feel so much better and typing is easy on the 8300. I feel the 8800 keys lay to flat and u can't feel them as good

| My boss has an 8800 and I've played with it a bit to get the hang of using a BB. But I use the camera on my current phone a lot, so the Curve is the one for me. Another co-worker of mine recently go a Curve and they like it.
