Default Blackberry Synch with Outlook and Microsoft Network - 09-09-2005, 07:33 PM

I am a new Blackberry user. I am curious to know if anyone knows how to make it so that I can synch with Microsoft Outlook and my Blackberry and still retain my Outlook connector. All the technician that I have talked to at RIM have told me that I have to set up a new profile and then transfer all my contacts and task, appointments etc, into my personal folders and I cannot use the Online folders in my Email account for contacts, tasks etc. Is there a way to be able to use Blackberry as it was intended to interface with Outlook and still not lose the Email connectiviity of Outlook and/or set up 2 different profiles which make the Outlook very inconvenient to use. Also I am not on Microsoft Exchange but instead I am using msn as my Email service.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

I am a Link2Excahnge subscriber and I have an MSN Premium account too. Although I use Outlook to read my MSN mail, I don't use Hotmail's calendar and contacts features. Instead I use my Link2Exchange MS Exchange profile to wirelessly sync everything with my BlackBerry and I use we Web Client to get my MSN e-mails. If I use a another computer, I login to Link2Exchange's OWA (Outlook Web Access); it's like having Outlook but through a web browser. It's much more efficient, reliable and convenient than using Hotmail's portal, believe me. In OWA, you can send/receive e-mails, make changes to your contacts and calendar and it updates your BlackBerry instantly.

So I suggest you forget about your Outlook Connector, signup for a hosted Exchange/BES and use the Web Client (free) to integrate with your MSN account.

Exhange/BES really IS the way use a BlackBerry device efficiently.
