Default Link2Exchange starting to get bad - 05-03-2006, 08:37 AM

I have two companies on Link2exchange with hosted exchange 2003 and BES accounts. Over the past few weeks everyone has been complaining about:
1. slow access to email from their pc
2. extreme delays of getting mail to their blackberry (sometimes a half hour, sometime down for a day).
3. having to redo enterprise activation out of nowhere
4. sending from bb timeouts

We've confirmed these all stem from L2E and not the cell provider. They say their servers are all maxed out and they are upgrading. But like I said this "upgrade" has been going on for about 3 weeks now with no improvement. Being that I have multiple, completely unrelated accounts with L2E, all seeing these same issues, I imagine others are seeing this as well?

Does anyone have real info about their upgrade? Like when it will be done so service can return to normal? Otherwise any recommendations on where to move these accounts to? I'm thinking mailstreet.net?

I called L2E tech support (waited for 50 minutes) and I was told that there is a problem with the BES server and L2E is having to re-establish all accounts and you will need to call them first so you can be added to the new server and all BB's will need to be activated again on the Exchange server. I did this and my BB is alive again. Good luck!

Default Final straw with L2E - 05-04-2006, 04:07 PM

We had a couple of BBs with L2E and initially found the service very useful. Seemed like a godsend at the time and solved many of our communications problems. But the service problems over the last couple of weeks were horrible. To top it all off yesterday when all of a sudden the servers were down and no e-mail or sync service was possible played havoc with our business. We called customer support four times and spent a total of 1.25 hours on hold. When we could get through we were told they were replacing a server and that was causing sporadic problems with some peoples e-mails. The last thing I did was call customer support one last time and spent a half hour on hold...when someone finally picked up I'm pretty sure it was a receptionist considering her knowledge and she took down our information and said we would be contacted.

Needless to say...24 hours later and I am happily signed up with ExchangeMyMail.com.

Default Update on Link2Exchange Service - 05-05-2006, 11:56 AM

We appreciate everyone's patience with the delays on Blackberry delivery. We have been working diligently to resolve the latency issues with Microsoft and RIM. The only resolve is for us to move users to a new farm that we build up over the past week. Currently the system is stable and experiencing 5 minute delays which is respectable but not ideal. Over the past 3 days we have been moving users to free up resources and will continue to do so over the weekend. With that said performance should be back to normal by this coming Monday May 8th. If anyone would like to get moved to the new farm please email me directly and we can arrange that.

Thanks again for your patience.

Default Problems - 05-17-2006, 09:14 PM

I had some issues on initial set up with link2exchange on my 8700C, but they were resolved pretty quickly. The first day of use I started getting return e-mails from my e-mail recipients asking why I had changed my e-mail address. After a lengthy hold, I asked link2exchange tech support if they could make my sent from e-mail address match that of my domain address (not XXXX@link2exchange) and whatever change they made disabled my entire account. After 2 more phone calls and a couple of hours of hold time now my 8700 is back to its original out of box configuration with no Link2Exchange support as link2exchange tech support can not get it to activate. After 20 minutes or so of attempting to activate from the BB I get the error message of, "the server is not responding please contact your system admin." I do have a good edge signal so it must be a configuration change problem. So here I am back on tech support hold again. Maybe the worst part is they keep playing the same 4 songs over and over again!

Their features sound promising, but support is poor to say the least. Too bad I've wasted so many hours of my time on them.

Sorry for the rant. Is anyone else out there using a similar service that supports showing your business e-mail domain (pop3 in my case) as sent from?

Thanks in advance

Not to completely revive this old thread...but...I can't help myself...

I find the support for Link2Exchange to be abysmal. Over the last few months, I too have been having BB delivery delays up to 1 hour at a time. Every time I email support, the issue, they say, has been resolved. Without offering me an explanation or hopes that it won't happen again, I just get a "it's fixed now" statement.

I think I will be moving providers soon.

Vincent,

Please call me at your earliest convenience so that I can review your experiences that you are describing. We monitor our support team on a constant basis and have been getting rave reviews from our customers. Your post concerns me so I would like to find out where the disconnect is and see if there is anything we can do to resolve your issues.

Hello,

As I am in and out of meetings all day, a sit down call with you today is not possible, but I will try and make time for tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a quick snapshot.

When I first signed up with L2E with a BB 7130e, I was having constant troubles. my BB would hang once every 5 minutes and it was unacceptable. Only after about 10-15 emails back and forth over a period of 2 weeks did someone at Support actually help me and figure it out. They usually said something along the lines of "It's your carrier's fault, contact them" or it's the BB fault, or re-activate your device (I think I did it 5 times already!)

Since then, delivery issues have been off and on, and it's been driving me nuts. As someone who is in constant contact with clients via email, I cannot have a BES hosting service delay my emails. It only makes me want to go back to BIS! My last occurrence of this was yesterday...only to have someone come back and tell me the next business day (what happened to 24X7 support) that it was a server issue.

I hope these problems get resolved as I am currently not a satisfied customer.

Thanks for listening,
Vincent Liou

Default Link2exchange Help vs Alternative - 09-14-2007, 10:28 AM

I am new, my first post, forgive my ignorance.

I noticed your post is a few months old. Wanted an update.

I want my bb8800, apple mail (on laptop and desk top) and .mac account to work as one (also, calander, tasks, notes). Is link2exchange my solution? If not, where should I go?

I called the Link2exchange phone number several times, all I get is an answering machine that sounds like the recording was made on an old tape machine. So, not a good first impression...combined with the info in the thread I just read...I am uncomfortable. Any comments will be apprcted.

thanks!!

Airborne Ranger,

We recommend that you use Entourage on our system to get the most features. Entourage will sync your inbox and subfolders, calendar and contacts. This will allow you to sync those items wirelessly to your blackberry.

As far as your email accounts you can point as many as you like to us. It would be best to give us a call to go over the different ways you can do this as there is a ton of flexibility.

The performance issues in the post are well over a year old. We have had a high quality of service since then and have been continually adding and upgrading equipment to keep things that way.

Your comment on the phone message has been noted and we will have that re-recorded the sound quality could be better I agree.

Matthew,
Thank you for the response!

I have probably dialed that Link2Exchange number, the one below your name and on the website, 15 times today (this is and issue I'd like a solution for ASAP). The phone is answered as "Seacoast Telecom;" surprised it didn't say Link2Exchange...this gave me a degree of discomfort as well.

Sorry, I am not in a position to receive calls today....traveling....so, I have not left a call back number on yhr voive mail answering your Sale's Department's phone.

I will mention that since I posted my first message I learned about "Exchangemymail." When I called them, someone answered immediately and spent several minutes addressing all my questions.

What number are you calling from? Please private message that to me. I would like to check our call records to see what happened and when as this is very odd. I just spoke with our office and the call volume is light today.

If you have any specific questions about our service you can dial ext 113 and talk to Jeff. Also I would like you to know that we are offering a special to blackberry forums members. Free 30 day trial and no activation fees ever including the blackberry enterprise server which is normally $39.95 per blackberry. You can view the full details on it here:
