Default Walmart -- Linux PC for $199 - 11-20-2007, 01:13 PM

Wow!!! Just found this and figured Id share for anyone interested in a Linux PC...

For sale at Walmart for $199 and loaded up with Linux G OS...

Everex TC2502 Green gPC w/ Via C7-D Processor - Wal-Mart

I put the G OS on my son's PC out of curiosity, and wow, it's pretty sweet...

OS Live CD download ---] gOS

Bottom line... It's a very nice OS for beginners and the $199 price at Walmart can't be beat for a PC loaded up with everything you need to be productive....

It's all in the news, too - Wal-Mart sold every last one online, in theory they should be back in stock by the 29th. The only place to find them right now is brick-n-morter stores until they run out, everyone seems to love them.

Here's a Wired hands-on:
Hands-On With Everex's $200 gPC | Gadget Lab from Wired.com

While not for me personally, I think it'll make a lot of folks happy who just need a stable box to browse the internet and do their yahoo/gmail now and then...

Not for me either... Munchkin loves it and when his POS e-machine craps out he is getting one of these... The price can't be beat and it does work really, really well for beginners and folks who just want a stable OS in a brand new PC for under $200...

The price can't even come close to getting beat!!!
