Default Nothing happens when I plug in my BlackBerry. - 06-03-2008, 05:41 PM

Hi,
I've tried a few times now after meddling with the Media Card settings, but this problem still exists: Nothing happens when I plug in my BlackBerry via USB.

Usually when I plug in a hard disk/phone/data card to my computer, my file browser opens a new window and displays its contents. But when I plug in my BlackBerry, nothing happens.

Here are some related specs:

BlackBerry: 8100 Pearl
OS: Ubuntu 8.04
No MiniSD card in the BB - my holder for the card is broken, so I use the phone memory

Hopefully this can be sorted out quickly!

Thanks,
Hans Engel

You cannot access your BlackBerry device memory from a PC... only a media card.

Wirelessly posted (8120 4.5.037)

Like stated above you will only get that when a media card is in your device. You need to use Desktop Manager to access device memory.

You cannot access your device memory externally.... period. Except for the purpose of adding/removing programs via the desktop manager. You have no access to store or retrieve data on your device memory externally.

you can actually access the device memory using the barry tools, but there are no actual tools available for browsing it.
