Default tethered modem success story and plugging barry - 06-22-2008, 01:32 AM

To begin with I use TMobile as my provider. Today I downloaded myself a fresh cvs copy of barry from sourceforge used the chat scripts for pppd and am now writing this thread, without the need of XmlBlackberry which is written about at Tethering With Blackberry Pearl On Linux [Thibaut Colar's Home] and am instead using barry by itself, which is nice, I must say. So for anyone using TMobile who would like to use their modem without the need of compiling gobs of software and who have had difficulty doing this in the past, there is a good change this will work, at least it did for me. I am currently using Ubuntu 8.04 code named Hardy Heron. best.

That's great! Can you make a guideline on this? Just using barry is much simplier.

I wonder if you could write a guide? XmBlackBerry just doesn't work for me. I had a tough time getting them compiled and installed, then it just doesn't work. ;P Barry is only thing that "just works" other than using it for PAM.
