How do I update my BB software with a Mac? The ATT download website seems to only be for Windows.

It's not available for Mac OS. However, I was able to update my 8830's software running Windows Vista Ultimate on my Macbook Pro.

Yup, you can only update your BB OS via a PC.

I use Parallels and Win XP on my MacBook to preform updates with the Desktop Manager.

Another possibility is to go directly to VZW and have the techs upgrade the S/W for you. Just make sure you save all your contacts/dates/etc., just in case there's a problem.

Is this a possibility, or a reality? I got the full brush-off when I tried taking my device into a Verizon store. They gave me the toll-free number for RIM, which did nothing to help.

dtdt...I've done it with other phones in the past without any hassle. They did have me sign a waiver knowing there was a slight chance of the update erasing my contacts, etc., but I had backed up the phone before bringing it in.

I just spent a bit of time discovering that the Blackberry.com website forum/lounge is incompatible with Safari. Can't stand cutsey tech companies that have to develop websites that deviate from w3c standards, and make it difficult to navigate. It does NOT enhance the product experience.

Anyway, I see that RIM still hasn't developed a Macintosh-friendly dekstop manage for updating the OS. Oh RIM, tell me again why I should have bought your product?

Grrr. I so do not want to have to find a friend with a PC, and risk my Blackberry to their viral load just to get this device working better. </whine>

You cannot have enough backups but you can have too few.
Pearl 8120, OS v4.3.0.72; PB G4 867, OS 10.5.2, USB -- useless BT thx to RIM .

Speaking of w3c compliance... you forgot the <whine> tag to start your post.
