Could you supply a few more details.
What OS are you running?
Were you ever able to sync prior to this?
Any error messages when you sync?

Default MacBook Pro not recognizing 8310 - 05-16-2008, 07:25 AM

I'm actually having the same issues. I have a brand new MacBook Pro, and a new Blackberry 8310. I downloaded pocketmac for blackberry 4.02b (Latest version). When I attempt to sync with pocket mac I get error message "[07:24:11.883] Unable to connect to BlackBerry (error 1); skipping." Has this happend to anyone? If so, how did you resolve?

I also have a brand new MBP (2 weeks old). I do not believe PocketMac is compatible with 10.5.2, which is the problem as since getting the MBP, I cannot get the BB to be recognized by the computer.

All you may want to try The Missing Sync for BlackBerry, although its not a free solution for a bit of money you can use a syncing solution that works.

PocketMac works just fine on 10.5.2.
I use it about once a week..
Perhaps its an Intel Mac problem..

I don't have a MacBook Pro but I do have 10.5.2 and it syncs fine. Try using different USB ports. If I recall the ports on the MacBook Pro don't all provide the same power - that may be your issue.

Had the same problem with my 8330, what I found is that you have to set the mass storage default to yes (on the BB). If you don't when you connect to the Mac you'll be asked the question to access the BB as a mass storage unit, once this happens it prevents you from syncing the two.

If there is a fix out I would really appreciate of someone posts that over here. I have subscribed to this thread.

My 8320 pocketmac task synchronization just hangs and does not complete :(

I have a new Macbook air running Leopard

(not the flash memory one)

I just moved over from a regular old Ibook (pocket sync worked fine on that)

Now I no longer get that "connected to a computer" logo on my BB when I connect to the Mackbook Air - I also got a message 'not enough power to charge' (once)

Any ideas ?

I cant sync.. at the moment.. kinda scary..

I do have TheMissingSync somewhere on my system, but I prefer Pocket Mac

I daydream that the Air's USB doesnt have enough juice to power the BB for sync...????

Fingers crossed reloading pocket mac seems to have fixed the issue.

Migrating my Tiger mac laptop to my new Leopard macbook air seems to have been the problem..Can't expect everything to work 100 percent after something like that I suppose...

Well it starts to sync but hangs when it gets to "tasks"

I think it DOES sync the tasks, but I am not 100 % sure

I am getting distressed / pi**ed of with the half assed funtionality with Mac.. Screwing around with VMWare Fusion..

I think I can hear a G3 IPhone calling my name...

Its been fun....but this party may be over..

Default How Sad - 06-08-2008, 11:47 PM

Wow that is really disappointing Casper. I really really really want to stick with my bb if I can. I was planning to buy a new curve, but now I don't know what to do.

Default Missing Sync Here I Come! - 06-10-2008, 11:12 AM

After reading yesterday that Mac signed on for another four years with AT&T, I can say with certainty that I am not going to get an iPhone any time soon. So it looks like I am going to have to just get over it and pay for the missing sync software.

Perhaps I will let my bitterness subside a bit and do the download this evening.

Maggie what Apple/os are you using? I currently have a mini using Leopard and other than an odd schedule issue (appointments are an hour behind on the BB) Everything works fine. I was not sure if you have attempted to use PocketMac yet, but I would at least try.

I just dug out my iBook and will see if the works any differently sometime this week.

I have a MacBook Air and am trying to use PocketMac. I am getting the same error messages as other users. I can charge my bb and can move files back and forth, but I cannot sync.
