Default For anyone having problems tethering your blackberry - 05-09-2008, 11:57 PM

I was having the hardiest time finding out how to do this and frankly it was pissing me off. Well I found a nice video on crackberry that i followed to the t, and i had absolutely no problems connecting after watching this video and doing everything that was being done on the video. Super great writeup up. Also this was for tethering a 8830 and i followed the directions and had no problems tethering my 8330 on the first try.

PS mods please consider this for a sticky.

hey for some reason this 100% did NOT work for me.

By the time I get up to the use this device as a modem step and where you have to put in the user name stuff, the carrier and everything is greyed out and I cannot type anything!

Anyone else have a similar problem? If this doesn't work I might return this bad boy since I want 3g tethered to my MacBookPro running leopard.

Right now I hate verizon.

so it appears that right after the step where I enter the passcode, the bluetooth connection dies and then everything on the following page (the one after "access the internet with your phone's data connection". As such then the following page is completely greyed out and I cannot do anything.

Anyone have and solution to this? Has anyone successfully tethered their VERIZON 8330 to a MacBookPro via bluetooth OR USB cable?

OK I FIGURED IT OUT!

So for my university stuff I had to change the location in the network pref pane. I forgot to switch it back to automatic so that the bluetooth connections still work! STUPID ME!

Well it works great now... thanks OP!
