Default Upcoming BB Media Sync - Mac compatibility? - 05-14-2008, 01:20 PM

Does anyone have any inside info on whether this new Media Sync application will work on a Mac?

This is the forthcoming software that will handle syncing music from iTunes to a BB. BlackBerry - Wireless Media Player at BlackBerry.com

I'm certainly hoping RIM doesn't ignore the Mac user base with this product... it would be a shame to be forced onto Windows to use iTunes sync.

Here's hoping that if they do support the Mac that they might develop an actual functional Desktop Manager for the platform, as well. I can dream, right?

I'm sure if you spend some time on RIM's website, you'll get a sense of the importance they place on the Macintosh market.

You can then contact their tech support with your ideas, your complaints, your compliments and your experiences. If you don't bother to contact them directly, they'll never understand just how they've failed to meet the Mac market.

Since the mac only commands 5-6% of the pc market, Rim and others react accordingly. Mac users just have to be more resourceful . . . that's all!

It's 8%, but your point remains just as valid. So one wonders why Nokia would have bothered to get it right so many years ago, when the Mac market was half that... or less. Surely this logic would hold up across various manufactures...

or...
