Default Can't connect to device: Missing Sync - 05-16-2008, 12:20 PM

BB 8820 and 10.4.9 - the missing sync worked like a charm during my 14 day trial period, just bought the paid version and for two days excellent.

Today - got an error message that reads can't connect to device. When I connect usb and start the missing sync, the media card mounts on my desktop correctly, and i then instruct it to sync music....spins, spins and pops up error message.

I might add had turned on password protection for BB yesterday and when connected, was asked for password....it kept on saying incorrect (???) so I ejected media card, shut down missing sync, disabled password on the BB and then started all over....that's when error message came on.

Any idea why this is happening?

Try this:

Disconnect the BlackBerry from the Mac.
Soft reset your BlackBerry. Turn it off, pull the battery for 3 minutes, put it back and turn on.

Reboot the Mac.

After both are fully booted, open Missing Sync for BlackBerry and connect the BlackBerry and try the sync again.

Many thanks - this is exactly what knowledge center of markspace.com suggested and it worked....back to normal.

Btw, i have not re-installed password protection - yet. Would you know why I would get error message re the password used. It definitely was correct.

Think this may help with your password thing, you may just need to re-enable the password now...
