Default Missing Sync is not synchronising all my contacts

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have gotten my new BB Bold 9000. I would be very happy if there wasn't the problem with the missing sync.

I have downloaded the trial version of Missing Sync (1.0.3) for Mac OS X.
Now when I synchronized my contacts I have found out that only 300 out of my 500 contacts were synchronized on my Mac. I have 500 contacts on my BB but only 300 are on my Mac addressbook.
Does this maybe have to do with the fact that I downloaded only the trial version? I only want to make sure that not the same thing happens after I bought the full version..

Thanks in advance

Hi There you may want to try taking a look at this article from their
website...I can't post links yet however check this out:

1. In the ADDRESS BOOK application (on the Mac), you should choose FILE>EXPORT>ADDRESS BOOK ARCHIVE. Quit Address Book.

2. In The Missing Sync, set the contact plugin setting to overwrite on the next sync only.

3. Perform a sync; the Macintosh will overwrite the data on the device.

4. Perform another sync. This time the data will not be overwritten. NOTE: you should accept any/all sync changes on the Mac (should any be required), even if the sync will delete most of the contact data on the Macintosh.

5. In the ADDRESS BOOK application (on the Mac), you should choose FILE>IMPORT>ADDRESS BOOK ARCHIVE. Select the backup file that you created in step 1. Quit the Address Book application.

6. Open The Missing Sync, and set the CONTACT plugin to OVERWRITE on the next sync only; perform the overwrite sync.

Thanks Joe,

but but my problem is just the other way around. Let me describe in steps what i did.
1. I have had all my let's say 500 addresses in the Mac addressbook. Then I synchronized it with the BB Bold over pocket mac. Actually it synchronized my contacts very well, but I had problems to synchronize my itunes. That's why i changed to missing sync. So now I have all my 500 contacts on the BB but I am not so sure why I have only about 300 contacts in my Mac addressbook.
I synchronize and synchronize.... Funny is also that every new contact I put into the BB is synchronized, but the existing, missing 200 are not.
I am completely clueless what to do.

I am having the exact same problem. It seems as if missing sync does not give us the ability to overwrite the computer's address book with our contact list in our blackberry. I hope somebody found a way around this

So far as I can tell Missing Sync does not work properly for at least the sync between Mac Address Book contacts and BlackBerry Bold.

Their web site goes so far as to admit this, in a knowledgebase entry posted 11/20/08 they suggest not entering any contacts on the BlackBerry Bold.

If I may ask --- what in the heck is the purpose of Sync software when the company that makes the software admits there's a bug and just advises essentially NOT to synchronize?
