Default Curve verizon Tether error message

Hi All:
I have been trying for days to tether my curve to my macbook via bluetooth. I subscribed to the tether plan with verizon and got this to work with my storm in 2 minutes but cannot get it to work with the curve. Verizon is no help and tells me to call Blackberry support. BB support wants $$ to support it from my understanding.

Verizon actually told me to download the pocketmac and sync the curve but that didnt work.

I get the following message on the mac when I try to connect the curve to the macbook via bluetooth

"Internet connection: Could not negotiate a connection with the remote PPP server. please verify your settings and try again.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get this to work? THanks
