Unhappy Talking to my Macbook

Please Login to Remove!

Newbie here!

I got a Blackberry 8900 today and am rather excited about it, however, i have one or two issues with getting it to talk to my Macbook.

I have loaded the disk that came with it, but the 'Blackberry User Tool' software doesn't seem to be working. I can load the application, it opens a new window, with nothing in it!!!

I have tried attaching the device straight to the laptop through the USB cable, but it doesn't seem the register.

Am I doing something wrong?!?! Please shed some light on this issue!

I am aware this maybe the wrong place to put this issue, so feel free to move it to the correct place!
Cheers.

Start here: Best place for Mac issues

Generally, you have to use one of these:
PocketMac
MissingSync

Thanks for the reply, and for moving the thread into the right place.

I've got this pocketmac jobbie - yet it doesn't seem to be able to find the device. Any suggestions?

Does your device show up on your desktop (as an icon)?

You need to enable Mass Media Storage Support. Please do that in the BlackBerry Options.

Options is the tools-like icon. Click on it and scroll to "Media Card," click on it and then make sure that the "Mass Media Storage Support" is checked. The Options is one of the most useable icon.

One quick tip:
For uploading songs and photos into your Blackberry avoid Pocketmac or MissingSync altogether! Just open that Blackberry icon on your Mac's desktop, once you plug the Blackberry in via USB cord (Mass Media Storage Support must be "on"/"yes"), open the proper file (Music or Photos) and drag songs or photos directly into those files. iTunes songs that were purchased via iTunes won't work, but all converted-CDs MP3 songs in your iTunes will!
