I think AUDACITY can do it, but I've been trying for the past hour and I can't get the settings proper.

HELP!

(1) who uses a 7100
(2) who uses a Mac
(3) who uses AUDACITY
(4) who is interested in converting MP3 files to ADP files

You may be the only one here who qualifies.

Mac Users:

Try this out:

Check the thread at the top of this forum which discusses ringtones. In there is the format you need to convert your mp3's in order to play them on your phone. Then do a Google search for that file format and see which programs are available in a Mac format. The older version of Philips Mobile Tools works great, but is it Mac compatible? I'm just giving you an idea on how to go about solving your problem. There's a wealth of information here, and doing a Search is the easiest way to find things.

What good is an idiot if I motivate him? I'll just have a motivated idiot.

MPT is not compatible with the Mac OS. The only thing that I've found that does Oki-ADPCM is SOX, however it is not the same format as the ADPCM files that are made in MPT.

This should be the format you're looking for...

OkiADPCM2
This is OKI's further development of OkiADPCM achieving improved sound quality due to higher internal computation accuracy and more quantization steps. OkiADPCM2 is capable of compressing down to 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 bits per sample, hence offering a rich selection of bit-rates with various audio quality levels and memory requirements.
