Default MacBook as WiFi access point for UMA?

Please Login to Remove!

If I'm in a place where there's no wi-fi but I have ethernet connection for my MacBook, shouldn't I be able to create a network from "Create Network" under the Airport menu and connect the BB8900 to that for UMA etc? I've tried but my BB doesn't see the MacBook's network when I have it scan. What am I missing? Thanks.
