Exclamation world edition 8830 not conecting in Pocketmac - 07-22-2009, 11:43 PM

Hi,
I have a world edition blackberry 8830. a brand new imac 20 in. os 10.5.7.
i have installed pocketmac. i get 2 results when opening it:
1. either i get the spinning rainbow "wheel of death" and pocketmac just hangs
or
2. pocketmac opens and the blackberry is not detected.

do i need to upgrade my os on the actual blackberry?

what do i need to do to get the phone to be recognized?

thanks

First, make sure you're not connecting through any USB hub. Only direct connections to your Mac will do. Try a different USB port too.

New Macs have issues with PocketMac. Sometimes it just won't work with the newer Macs, especially the Intel Macs. An alternative is Mark/Space's Missing Sync. It's not free like PocketMac but *sometimes* Missing Sync works when PocketMac does not. It's $40, but if it's the only solution that works it might be worth the cost. Or you could try to hold out until the Mac version of BlackBerry Desktop Software is released some time in September.

Pocketmac sucks ass. Wait for the software from rim next month. Backup your contacts using Google Sync. Works fine.
