Default BB/DM Newbie help..... - 10-13-2009, 08:15 AM

Help a newbie out, please. I just purchased my first BB. It’s a Tour, and Verizon is the carrier. I download the BB device manager for mac and I’m about to contact my Tour for the first time.

Are there any initial settings to either the BB or in the DM I should be aware of “before” I contact my BB for the first time?

Nope. The DM will recognize your device and then you can start either backing up, installing or removing apps, copying over music, etc. You might want to turn on Mass Storage on the phone so you can access your SD card (if you have one).

Thanks kirrin, I appreciate your help. Like I said I'm a complete newbie to the whole BB experience and defiantly don’t want to make any rookie mistakes.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure what you mean by pop-up on the phone. Perhaps this is device specific, but I have to go to options>media card and turn on media card support and MSM support and auto enable MSM support.

Well yes you would have to do exactly that on the device to enable it. However it you have it set to prompt (default), then it will ask you on the phone whenever it is connected to your computer. If you set it to "on", then it won't.
