Default BB, Mac, iCal, Exchange GoogleSync Question - 10-15-2009, 09:50 AM

I have not seen this answered yet and would really appreciate some help trying to figure it out!

My setup:
A TMO BB 8900, using Exchange (BES) for one email account and calendar entries. Works flawlessly.
I have now set up a CalDAV google calendar which is for personal use.
I then downloaded and installed Google Sync on my BB.
I synced, and everything came in duplicated - one for my exchange entries and one for my CalDAV entries.
In Google Snyc, the options are set to sync my personal (CalDAV) calendar, and in the BB calendar, my default calendar is my exchange calendar.
So, when I input something into the BB, it comes into iCal twice.
And when I input something into iCal, it goes into the BB once, but then comes back into iCal again, giving me dupes.

I assume I'm just being thick here and am missing something fairly simple. Would love your input.

Thanks

No your not, calendar syncing on the BB is a pain in the A**. RIM really needs to address how calendars are synced.

The culprit is the incompatibility of google sync and iCal. When you do google sync, it adds a new calendar to iCal (which contains all of your other iCal events)...So in essence you have two copies of everything on iCal. I got so frustrated with this I stopped using google sync FWIW.

I went and bought Busy Cal from busymac.com, its like ical pro, and I use it with google calendar and google calendar sync on my bb and I have had no issues, no duplicates, nothing, works great
