Default Bluetooth not working on Mac - 11-01-2009, 10:47 AM

I set up my BlackBerry to synch with my Mac. Everything went fine until it began browsing the device and said "The device does not have the necessary services."

What's wrong?

Nothing's wrong. Your BlackBerry just doesn't support this. It really doesn't have the necessary services. You can send files to your BlackBerry via bluetooth, but even that is a pain. You have to go into Media on the BlackBerry, go to the folder for the type of file you're going to receive, and use the Menu key to select "receive using bluetooth" each time you want initiate a file transfer from your Mac. You just cannot browse the BB from your Mac.

Were you able to sync with iCal, address book, etc., using bluetooth? I can't seem to figure out how to set that up. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sal

Did you read the post directly before yours? Perhaps you should...syncing can't happen with BT as of current software....

I guess I didn't read it through. Hopefully, RIM will offer BT sync'ing in a future release.

Thanks, Sal
