I'm sorry as most probably this problem has been posted several time before, but I couldn't find any answer in the forum. The sticky is dated 2004, so it doesn't seem to be that relevant anymore...

I have a Mac OSX 10.6 and unse iCal connected to the corporate calendar on Exchange Server 2007. iCal connects fine and can read/write to the server.

The problem arises when trying to sync a Blackberry Curve with the exchange calendar using Desktop Manager (version 1.0.2). I can see the exchange calendar in Desktop Manager but it's read only, so no sync is possible from the phone to the server.

How can I overcome this and sync both ways?

Sounds like you're precluded from doing this by an IT Policy. Many features of a local wired sync are disabled by corporate rules. You'll have to ask your IT guys about it. There really is no workaround for IT Policies, and even trying is usually a one-way ticket to the unemployment line!

Hi Rambo,

thanks for replying. I'm the admin... and there are no policies to prevent this. In fact, iCal on the same computer can write to the calendar without any problems. It's just desktop Manager showing the calendar as "read-only"... quite frustrating.
