Default Pairing Your BB Device With A Mac?? - 03-23-2006, 08:58 PM

Wasn't exactly sure which section was more appropriate for this post but here goes anyway... via Bluetooth has anyone succesfully been able to pair their BB with a Mac. Or is this just not possible? I couldn't find anything regarding Macs over at Blackberry's Technical Knowlege Center.

Not possible, headset, PC desktop manager sync and some BT keyboards are about all you can sync with BT on the BlackBerry.

bummer, I thought as much. On similar note, I've noticed quite a few automobiles out now that are Bluetooth compatible. I'd love to see my 8700 pair with one of them.

Ok, so I just paired my 8700c with my MacBook Pro and the following is shown:

Code:
Device Name: Schalliol BlackBerry 8700

Device Address: 00-0f-86-ec-67-0c
Device Type: Phone
Device Services: BlackBerry Desktop Service P:0x23D85DED R:0x03 V:0x20004, BlackBerry Bypass Service P:0x23D85DED R:0x03 V:0x20003, AUDIO Gateway, Voice Gateway

Paired: Yes
Configured: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: No
Serial Port: Yes
Is there anything at all I can do with this? I know with other devices I could use the Mac address book to dial, but it does not seem to be possible here. I see your notes above and assume that I cannot do anything, but I thought I'd ask given this.

Short, sweet, to the point and accurate...

While you can pair a Mac and a BB you can't actually DO anything...
