I am looking at picking up an 8700G and I have a macbook pro, and I was readin on pocketmacs site that 10.4.4 broke pocketmac syncing? It was an update on 1/23/06, is this still the case, or is all well now and I can go ahead and pick one up?

no, it works now. The post they have on there says that pocketmac wouldn't work on intel based macs until they fixed it.

It was just fixed, that's what this thread is about. I synced my new 8700 with my MBP last night.

Works for me.. Their documentation sucks though.. they tell you that the blackberry doesn't support multiple addresses per contact, but the 8700 seems to.

Now if they could only figure out how to install software and route through it and I will by happy..

PocketMac needs to hire more/better developers.. heh.

Pocketmac for BB is a bandaid at best. Its buggy, and doesn't do half the functions the the BB desktop does, or other 3rd party sync app's do for other PDA's. The Blackberry is just barely mac compatible. It is not a elegant nor a rock solid solution. Pocketmac for BB is not supported by RIM tech support, and is hardly a solution which makes RIM or blackberry look its best.

Just curious, I have an Intel iMac and can't for the life of me get my 8700g to sync. I downloaded and installed the new version pocketmac and have tried both bluetooth and USB with no luck. If anyone has any help or suggestions, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Default Help! - 04-30-2006, 12:37 PM

Alright, for whatever reason (yes, I'm a newbie) I can't get my 8700g to sync with my Mac even USB. I do have one of the newer intel macs and I do have the intel compatible software, but still no luck! Someone, please help! Thanks.
