Default Pocketmac, Entourage, 8700c and erased calendar on 1st sync! - 05-10-2006, 08:13 PM

I installed Pocketmac and manually sync tasks, notes and contacts, just to test it out. Then I did so w/ the calendar and then found my calendar completely erased. Pretty serious problem, though I'm not as stressed because I still have everything on my Treo that I can resync w/ Entourage.

1) How did this happen?
2) How do I avoid this on the first sync? I'd like Entourage to dump everything to the blackberry and then after that, it can do a real sync between the two. I've used PocketMirror on the PC and it lets you choose which side is the master, handheld or desktop, for each item (notes, calendar, contact, tasks). How do do this on PocketMac?

Thanks.

Default Advanced Options. - 05-11-2006, 12:23 PM

Spotlight "Adv" and you'll find a couple more options where you can customize PocketMac. One of them is PUSH and you'll be able to push all the data from your mac to your blackberry.

I started a post about this a while back called Advanced Options and iCal...

Silly question sorry, but where do I find "Adv" in PocketMac?

Update - never mind, found it, no help unfortunately...

Because you have been using another device, before you sync with your BB you need to clear the log in pocketmac. To do this you need to email pocketmac and ask them to send you two scripts, one that will clear the log, and a seperate script that will allow you to purge a specific section of your BB. Save these scripts and use them when things start syncing wierd. Use the log clearing first, as a last resort purge the data from the section of the BB that is causing you problems. What I will do prior to this sync Entourage to iCal, address book and mail apps. You could just back them up also. Then I repair permissions, then purge the log, then sync. If that does not work then I will run the other data purging script for the specific area your having trouble with, then sync again.
Another option is just to email pocketmac. I have done this a couple of times and they were extremely helpful. Hope this helps.
