Default Wireless Reconciliation & Task Sorting Questions - 06-21-2006, 09:32 PM

Hey folks - first day with a Blackberry - and your site has already been very helpful. I have two questions, but first - my vitals:

Blackberry 8700r
BIS 2.0
Entourage 10.1.6
Pocketberry for mac (free)

1) Is it possible to make it such that when I delete an email on the handset, it is also deleted from Entourage, and vice versa? Or is it necessary that I have to perform this action twice?

2) On the handset, I would like tasks sorted by due date, however despite my attempts to change this setting, I seem to be unable to have this occur.

Any help on either topic is very much appreciated.

No, limitation of BIS. You would need to use a hosted BES service to gain this ability.

If you set the option to sort by due date, the next think I would suggest is to verify that the task has a due date set.

Need a screenshot? ... Like JavaLoader?

Thanks very much.

Re: the tasks - it appears that Pocketberry did not sync the due dates - those fields are blank on my handheld. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and is there a solution?

Hi,

In regards to your question, you can somewhat delete emails from Entourage. However, to do so, you can't have Entourage actively running. For example, what I do is I use the Blackberry during the day to handle any emails, including deleting emails I don't need. Then, when I use Entourage at night, it takes note of what I haven't deleted and what I have and only pulls down the new emails. You can do this if you are using BES or even a simple POP3 account (the trick with the later is not to have Entourage pulling down messages). Once the messages are in Entourage there is no way to delete them remotely.

In terms of the other question about the Due Date sync, this is a known bug in the PocketMac software. I talked with them recently and they said that it should be fixed within the next month or so through a new software release. I would definately keep an eye on their website for new inof.

Hope that helps.
