Default Not all Contacts sync'd into Mac Address Book - 07-13-2006, 03:58 PM

so here goes. I have a blackberry 7520 (nextel), i installed PocketMac on my mac in the office running 10.4.7. i then installed pocketMac, and did a sync for the first time. It has synced only a hand full of my contacts from the blackberry, but has synced everything from calendar, notes, and tasks. has anyone else experienced a problem like this, any ideas?

Make sure you backup your addy book before trying again it might delete the entries it didn't get from your mac addy book. Did the addresses go into correct field?

Mac sync sucks with PocketMac. Well documented issues. Search threads for more info.

this was a first time sync, so shouldn't it have copied all the contacts from my blackberry to address book?

I've had similar problem with PocketMac and my 8700G... it would take some contacts but not all - and no rhyme or reason why it took the ones it did...

I've had similar problems. I got my address book perfect on my G5 at work, backed it up, then synched it with my 7130e. No probles there. Then, I bring the BB home, empty my address book on my G4 and try a sych with my BB. Total weirdness...both the G4 and the BB are incomplete, many addresses from the G5 are GONE (on the BB and the G4)...now I have to manually delete every message on the BB, synch it with the G5 (again) and hope it works w/the G4...any advice???

PM, as stated in many other threads, is an imperfect solution - but especially if you've synced anything else to your Mac, such as another PDA or .Mac, etc. I've run into the weird address sync thing described here and one of the things I did was to reset my sync data. To do this, FIRST check your iApps (iCal, Address Book) and make sure they're "right" and then make backup copies of each. Then follow this path: iSync>Preferences>Reset Sync History and select reset. Then, open PM and sync everything (Addresses, Calendar, Tasks, Notes). The sync should behave like it's the first time, and should sync all data.

I can't vouch that you can dump all of the contact data from a BB into an empty Address Book smoothly - I've never tried that. But if it doesn't sync properly, then I'd copy your Address Book from work to your other Mac and then sync to your BB.

Hope this helps!
