Default PocketMac 4 syncs fine but hangs w software (8700g) - 10-15-2006, 09:40 AM

Has anyone succeeded in getting the 'application loader' in PM4 to work with largish apps like IM+? If so, are there any undocumented steps that one needs to take?

On a MacBook Pro running OS 10.4.8, I can sync an 8700g, and I was able to install a smallish app (BerryBlocker) but when I try to load IM+, PM4 runs briefly and then hangs. If I attempt to update an existing version, it corrupts the application. If I attempt to install a new application, it installs some files (or parts of files) but nothing that actually runs, so there is no easy way even to delete whatever has been installed.

Thanks for any pointers,

Funny you should mentions that as I had the exact same problem when I installed IM+. It doesn't seem to install that particular application and corrupts the software on my bb. I haven't tried any other software though as I thought that the same would happen.

mr kitty, do let us know if you ever do get a reply as I'm extremely curious to this. I mean why would PocketMac release an application such as the program loader and now get it to work. Kinda off if you ask me.

Shape Services tech support have come up with a solution that works with the 8700g, at least, so licensed users of IM+ should probably be able to get a installable version by contacting their support team and requesting a version of IM+ that installs via PM4.
