I am considering buying a BlackBerry

actually, I was going to buy a Palm Treo (BUT I HATE PALM AND VOWED NEVER TO OWN ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR DEVICES)

So anyway - I am a mac user. Macbook 10.4.8

and I have Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac

I have all my contacts, calendar and emails in Entourage

I want to get a BlackBerry that will allow me to sync with Entourage

Am I dreaming?

Verizon (my cell provider) seems to be featuring BlackBerry 8703e

Please please help and advise me

No problem just download pocket mac 4 and you are set to go.

My BB7100 backed up fine with on an Intel Mac with PocketMac v 3.6. However, I can't say the same about v4.0 when used with the Blackberry 8100. My experience has been jumbled synch's when the software was running. Otherwise, you encounter error messages that are not resolved with removing the software and re-installation. If you are thinking about using v4.0 with a BB8100 proceed with caution and read the other threads. The PocketMac application is NOT being supported by PocketMac nor RIM. The application was not adequately tested and users' error reports are receiving no response.

It's a good thing that I like my MacBook Pro and my BB8100. Otherwise, I would not live without synch. (My Ical and Entourage calendars and contacts are not synched with my BB. It would be better to accept this outcome so you won't be disappointed.)

RIM supports the PocketMac application now, they bought the company that made the program.

If RIM really supported PM, they would respond to user's questions and bug reports - you might read others posts or submit a question to RIM to judge response timeliness. I suspect that RIM is having major technical problems getting information from PM just as users have had problems getting any support from PM in the past.

Buggy software + inadequate testing + virtually no support = disappointment and frustrated users
