Default Bootcamp and Syncing OR Pocketmac ?

Please Login to Remove!

Being new to Blackberries, and also fairly new to the Mac world also i was wondering how people felt was best to synce my Pearl to my Mac.

I have hears so many bad things about PM and having just installed and tried it, so far i have got missing contacts also, so not impressed from the outset.

I have boot camp running XP on my Imac, and thought of using it to connect and sync my Pearl, But as my XP doesnt have any any address book, any contacts or any calender that seems a waste and pointless, so has anyone found a solution to this that is satificatory yet? IE: is there a way to somehow get all the info from mac system into XP and then sync (or am i being a Noob fool thinking that!)

Else i dont seem to have any choice but to use PocketMac until theres better, it seems either PM 1/4 working (if at all) or 100% sync ok on XP, but meaning have to manage my life in XP with address book/contacts etc and then switch to Mac for normal life?

And as for Parellals, i yet to get it to find the Peral via usb, it still sayd no device..

Thanks

i use a pearl and and daylite 3.0 with pocketmac and it is borderline at best. from what I learned rim has taken over the pocketmac software and is working on the next revision. rim will make it work, they made a great product for windows so mac should be a no brainer.

i do get it to sync sometimes, but it is sketchy.

My experience is that PM4.0 is awful as it doesn't work at all with the BB8100.

I am waiting to evaluate Missing Sync's software later this quarter. Hopefully, this will enable successful synching with AddressBook/Calendar or Entourage.

Please note that dual-booting into Windows will only allow synching with Outlook (not helpful if you use AddressBook, Calendar or Entourage). If Missing Synch software fails to work well, I will still be "missing sync" capabilities with a BB8100.

Hope this helps as I want to save you the many hours of frustration that I endured with PM3.X and PM4.0 (didn't work and neither PocketMac or RIM will support the software).
