I have been using pocketmac to sinc my address book and ical to my pearl (and 8703e) with no probs. However, I want to wipe my pearl clean to solve a prob, but I have no idea how to back up my downloaded ringers and pics. I don't want to lose that stuff. I'm not using the BB desktop, obviously. Can anybody steer me in the right direction?

to wipe it you need a pc anyway, so you can back it up at that point. but the answer to the question you asked is that the mac will not mount the internal memory of the pearl. you could put a media card in, move the files over to it and that *should* mount on your desktop, allowing you to copy the files off. but not directly.
