Its wierd, when I download songs to my Curve, some come with titles and other just say "Track 1-8" Is there any way from within the Media Player you can give these songs the proper name?

There is no way in the Media Player.

However, if they are on an SD Card you can use USB Mass Storgae Mode, and rename them.

You also may need to edit the ID3 tags if they have them. Many MP3s do have them, and sometimes they are wrong.
I would use a program like WinAmp to edit the ID3 tags.
