Default Is it possibile to share a theme that's installed - 11-07-2007, 04:53 PM

I have a theme I built for my blackberry but I've lost the original theme files, is there some way to download it off my 8800 and share it with someone else?

Yes. You can use javaloader.exe to save the theme file to your PC. The command is javaloader.exe -u save [FILENAME].cod. You can find out the name of the .cod file, by going to options, advanced, applications, menu>>Modules, and scrolling down until you see the name of the theme. Add .cod to the end.

To use javaloader.exe, download it, extract it to a directory on your pc. The easiest directory to use is the directory that your cmd defaults to. So go to the start menu, press run, type in CMD and see where this defaults to. It might be c:\documents and settings\[username]. Save the javaloader.exe file to that directory.

To run javaloader.exe, open the command prompt again and type the command.
"javaloader.exe -u save [FILENAME].cod" will save the .cod file to the same directory where javaloader.exe is located. To load the file to another device, the command is javaloader.exe -u load [FILENAME].cod.

IIRC, if you type javaloader.exe help, it will give you a list of commands and their syntax.

Hope this helps.

How do you find out the actual file name you want to save? I went to Advanced Options > Applications and it only gives me the name of the app not the actual filename of it on the BB.

Go one more step from there. Click the menu key and select "Modules." Then you'll find the modules (.cod's)
