Default Ringtones for 8830- Verizon Wireless - 12-06-2007, 09:51 PM

i'm sure someone has asked this before but i couldn't find it in a search...

i just got my BB 8830 World Edition with Verizon Wireless. BBs don't have access to their Get It Now feature which lets you buy ringtones. The guy at customer services said there was some internet options for getting ringtones.
does anyone know anything about this? *ANY* info would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!

I think its a great selling point for Verizon users to get a blackberry, any ringtone you want is at your disposal. I have tons of MP3's that I rotate as my ringtones, and only have to buy the song once. (Unlike Get It Now, which ties your purchases to your phone.)

This site is actually recommended by our regional RIM reps. Very good site and easy to use with the wap version.

I like the Full Metal Jacked files! I'd love to slip some of those on a friends phone without them knowing. Of course I might not be their friend anymore! I sent the Aooga file to my brother who has a 1930 Model A Woody. It of course has an Aooga horn.

You wanna watch a friend wet his pants, wait til he/she is driving and secretly play the police siren LOUD. Watch how quickly he focuses on the rear-veiw mirror.

In your email notifier rings, you need to change the name of "bbMailSpockToKirk" to "bbMailWorfToPicard".

I will download that ringtone just for that reason.

Question Need to use converter? - 01-26-2008, 12:04 AM

I've looked at ringtones I'd like to download, I found quite a few at TuneUsIn. I'm confused about the converter.
Do I need to purchase and use the converter for ringtones I download from their (or any) site? Or is it for creating ringtones from my existing mp3 files?

Thanks,
Denise

The converter is for MP3s you have on your computer that you want to make ringtones from. The actual ringtones at tuneusin.com are already the right size for the Blackberry.

I'm having the same problem with the same phone... I can download a MP3 into the ringtone folder and play it in there and it sounds extremely loud... but when I set it as my ringtone it is about half the volume. I've also gone into the profiles menu and set everything related to phone to loud but the phone still rings at half of the volume the ring tone will play in the media/ringtone menu.
