Default Here's How to get the new Today Plus and Scribble without OTA - 02-12-2008, 01:46 AM

If you would like to install the two new curve themes from blackberry, but don't have ota access, here's how. First, enter the url's below into explorer, and download the .jad files. Then, open in notepad, and look at the necessary .cod files that are listed as part of the installation. Simply change the url link extension from .jad to the appropriate .cod (and then -1, -2, etc.), and download to the same folder as the .jad file. Then, copy the folder to your blackberry, and open the folder from the media player. Then, select the .jad file and follow the prompt to "download". The .jad file will then pick up the .cod files in the same folder, and you've got your themes. I've also included the .jad files and how they look in notepad in case anyone has problems with that step.

UPDATE: Go to this post where I've included the actual files...

The media player doesn't recognize the .jad files.

You have to go into the media app, press the application button, and then select "explore", and browse to where you have the files saved. Then you should be able to select the .jad file and go from there...

I could be wrong, but shouldn't these themes work on the 8700 if they are installed using the manual method? What O/S do you have on your 8700?

You are wrong. Trackball themes are completely different from trackwheel themes.

I'm having the same issue. BB 8800 on ATT, themes install (and appear as installed applications) but don't show up in the theme list after multiple battery pulls.

Thank you so much! I just tried this on my 8100(got the link posted by someone else on the board you linked to) and it worked! The only thing that confused me was when you mentioned "changing the link from the .jar to .cod file". I didn't understand that you meant to copy and paste it to the end of the mobile site link. *was trying all sorts of crazy things*
