Default video playback problem on 8320 - 02-14-2008, 04:52 AM

Ok so i upload a video onto my 8320 it's about 10mb in size. this video played. next i uploaded another video this one 170mb in size, but this second video wouldn't play. there's an error that comes up when i tried to play this second video. both videos are same file format. anyone have any idea what's going on? thanks in advance.

Even though files have the same extension (avi, mpg, etc) doesn't mean that they are using the same codecs. The blackberry only supports a limited number. Fortunatly, you can transcode exisitng videos by using one of the existing tools, like the free Blackberry video converter. See this link for details. Seabyrd Technologies - Blackberry Video Converter I think that you can also use the Roxio media player that comes free with Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.3 (free download from RIM site), but I haven't tried the transcoding.

You can see the differences using:

Use Gspot program to find out the video & audio codecs of some of the videos you're trying to transfer:
