I just bought a 2gig memory card. Placed it in the BB. Read up on what to do to get BB to recognize it. I'm doing something wrong.
Can someone please give me the step by step to get this darn thang work'in so I can move some songs onto the BB??............thks in advance!

Not knowing what you have done... Have you formatted it? Try doing so from you PC or the BB.

I went to the website, did everything it told me to do (on my BB). saved and exited. tried to format media card from BB and got a message: Memory card format failed........what now?

Have you removed the battery while powered on, hold 30 seconds, replace and reboot?

When you go to Options > Advanced > Media Card... what shows?

I rebooted.........
On the BB, in: Options / Advanced.....I do not have a choice called "Media Card".
I have:

Try to format the Media Card from your computer, I don't think I ever gotten a Media Card to format from the the BlackBerry myself.

Once you format it from a computer, (Also verify the computer can see the media card to make sure the card is workign properly) turn off the BlackBerry and insert the Media Card, turn on your BlackBerry you should see "Media Card Inserted", with that you should now be able to go into "Options -> Media Card"

Lets see where that leads to.

You should see the Media Card when you click on the Options icon (no need to go into Advanced Options). Should be there right under Language.

Yep, options > Media Card. I said Advanced but I am drunk on sunshine today.

As you remember..........I purchased the '2gig' memory card. I took it back to Radio Shack today and got a new clerk. When I showed the clerk what kind of message I was getting regarding format failed. He immediatly said, the 8300 Curve does not support the high memory card, try the 1gig. Made a trade with him, put in in the BB, whalla! It recognized it and I'm now up and running.
Why the Curve won't accept the higher memory card is beyond me!
Now I'm off to download songs to the card and see how that works.

The clerk at Radio Shack was off his/her rocker. I'm not sure what OS the Curve has, but you can use at least a 2G card:

Ditto^^. It does support the HC card.

Well, maybe I had a bad one, cause it would not recognize it. That's OK as I'll be happy with 250 songs for now.
