Default Video Bitrates and Encoding Options

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know at what bitrates and with what encoding options the various audio and video (mainly video) formats supported by BlackBerries will play back at properly?

There is quite a significant difference between decoding MPEG-4 part 2 at 1000kbps and doing it at a mere 512kbps, which my Curve seems to have trouble with.

I know the media player on a BlackBerry can understand all of the valid bitrates, but it certainly can't keep up in decoding, as I tend to have choppy video lagging behind the audio, and worse.

(No, using the included Roxio media manager, or any other pre-set, specialized tool is not an option.)
