Right now I'm using the Explorer theme, I like it its different, the crossbar them will display your calander dates like the today theme does when you scroll over the calander icon.

Gawd, living in Seattle, using Rain as a purchasing excuse would bankrupt me - of course, this week SNOW was the rule - a bit late in the season but one of the boonies got 8 inches last night.

Enjoy your new apps.

Default Be Careful before purchasing from Bplay - 04-02-2008, 01:09 AM

To fellow BB users. If you decide to update your theme and want to purchase anything from Bplay, be careful as they won't respond/resolve issues, even if the theme doesn't work properly. I know it's only about $6, but buyer beware...... I downloaded a few themes and found a bug. After a few quick emails, the developer/support person completely disappeared. I guess they follow the customer service model of "we aren't satisfied, until the customer is dissatified"

Just to correct you, they WILL respond to your support concerns but they will take their dear time doing it.

First time I ever contacted them they responded within 15 minutes! I even emailed them back and forth 3 more times within the following hour. I guess I caught them at a good time. Because the next time I contacted them, about a month later, they took 1 MONTH to respond!

I guess they pick and choose who's important or not. But more realistically, I think it's only 1 or 2 guys responding to hundreds or support requests.

Still no excuse though...

Definitely not... If you are going to own a big/well known site like that, you should always be on top of replying to emails. Especially considering they most likely have Blackberry's.

well, I have been an avid fan of Bplay, Magmic etc for a while now. Although I haven't experienced any issues with a couple themes (come on...buying a $6 theme directly from your blackberry is pretty cool). And all the games FAR surpass what is out there in terms of private developers (who by the way have NO support structure). Funny how we let those guys slide, but the companies get slammed.

Honestly, I get worse customer service when I call into my cell provider and I pay thm $100 a month!

Although I care about Customer Service, I care more about the product and that it gets resolved, which I'm sure would eventually.

No problems with magmic/bplay and consider the commodity of games/themes something I can deal with as long as it doesn't affect my productivity or service.

Let's be realistic about a sub $10 product.

Default Poor service from Bplay - 04-05-2008, 06:43 AM

I agree that it is only $6. The problem was not only that they didn't respond, but that the theme I was trying to use didn't work properly and they didn't care. After they saw these posts, they sent me an email, but didn't bother to read the problem as they thought I was looking for customization when all I wanted was the ability to see the message and read the subject line as you can in other themes (lines were being truncated). When I referred them back to the original issue, they stopped communicating again. The point is, they only do customer service that is convenient for them, and it appears they are actually a third party and someone else is doing the theme creation. We should try to find the real developer of these themes, if someone has the time.....while remembering it is only $6.

Maybe you're the exception, cause I've had nothing but good experiences with Bplay.
Last month I bought the Crossbar theme and the wifi logo was really messed up. I contacted support and they gave me an updated download within a couple hours. From what I saw on blogs like berryreview, that theme had only been out for a couple hours. I don't think there's someone else making their themes cause they'd never be able to get it fixed that quickly.

Maybe they're understaffed and can't get to all the issues in time, especially since theyve got some pretty big games for sale. I'm also not sure how they could connect your posts here to your support request so maybe you're seeing something that's not there?

I like the Explorer theme a lot!

It gives you the best full view of your wallpaper.

I most use short cuts from the keyboard so it seems to work best for me.

Looks like the Explorer theme is gone too. A search button on bplay's site would be nice
