Default bPlay - Crossbar and Explorer Themes - 04-11-2008, 06:38 PM

Just got a PM from someone who said that the Crossbar and Explorer themes were no longer available and wanted to know why. Anyone have any information?

These two themes were made from an unreleased version of the Plazmic Theme Builder, thus why they did not conform to the Icon, Today, or Zen templates. Just curious if RIM/Plazmic went after them, although I would assume they would have gained permission to sell these themes prior to doing so, as they are good friends with plenty of people at RIM.

It is being reported on other forums that the themes are no longer available, even to those people who purchased the theme. I'm curious if refunds are being offered - it appears they are offering credits, of some sort.

I'd also like to know what is happening. I need to reload the OS on my BlackBerry and since I won't have access to the crossbar theme I am hoping I am given either a refund (since I just recently bought it) or I am given a credit to get another theme.

You can make a backup of it from your device. Just connect it to your PC and JL_CMDER or JavaLoader and save the net_rim_plazmic_Crossbar.cod module.

Command-Line:
JavaLoader -u save net_rim_plazmic_Crossbar

That I know but unfortunately that only works when your BlackBerry is functioning. When your BlackBerry has one of those infamous java errors and you've lost everything it's not much of a help at all. I'm just glad I back up my BlackBerry often so I can restore my data and app wise I have those files stored on my PC. Thanks anyways though.

Cheers!

Those themes were not created with any version of plazmic theme builder.

they were made with tools only distributed inside of RIM.

Those themes are as innovative as "phantom"...

This theme is hidden. I can't find it at all under JavaLoader or Java folder. Was too nice to last for so long.

try the command: javaloader.exe -u save com_plazmic_theme_Crossbar.cod and see if that helps. It should extract the theme if it's on your BlackBerry still. If not then you're out of luck.

So weird because it is the default theme but does not save with this command. I can see it with the Application Manager but can't save it there.
