I just read about a lot of spam on Google Groups for free Blackberry ringtones -- only the links go to sites trying to download malware.

It's best to stick with known reputable sites. A search on this forum will bring up quite a few good ringtone sites. Also you can make your own.

If you have an SD Card, just download a free MP3 editor and crop the portions of songs you want as ringtones. I've got hundreds of custom ringtones, all perfect quality that I just made myself. The program I use is WavePad.. free and easy. Cheers.

There are plenty of places with "free" ringtones, but you'll always be charged for using the phone's network to download them (unless you have an unlimited data plan). You need to use an mp3, edit it in the program Audacity or in online editor making it a short clip and upload it to your microSD card.
