blue screen problems when synching -

I got a blue screen when plugging in my BB 8820 to synch which had worked successfully many times before. it mentioned error in fastfat.sys, memory default and other stuff... I removed the Toshiba micro SD 2.0 G chip and tried again and had no issues, so I think the chip is the issue. Can anyone help me sort out what to do? Do these chips just wear out and need to be replaced or is there something else I should try? I got the same thing from 2 different computers. I have BB desktop manager 4.3.0.15 installed. thanks.
