I have a white background that i want to use on my BB pearl, however, with the theme i have, i cannot see the battery life, or signal strength (both are white). Is there any way to either make those icons black (or any other color), or when setting images to my background; make the top and bottom black. For example, a picture I have doesnt fit the whole screen, so the BB makes the default top and bottom of the picture white.

Kind of a newb question, sorry. Any help would be appreciated.

If i can, I would prefer to avoid changing themes because the other themes I have on the phone arent as nice.

That icon color is controlled by the theme... can't be changed except for choosing a new theme or creating a new one.
